WHY YOU SHOULD GET TO KNOW MORE ABOUT YOURSELF

I learnt sometime ago: “Knowing others is intelligence, knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength, mastering yourself is true power.” I see a lot of sense in that.

• IT’S EASIER TO PUT OFF PEER PRESSURE

There would be a certain pride or mannerism that a president of a country would carry. This is because he knows his place or position in the country, the respect that should be accorded to him and the power he holds. This is what happens when you know your identity and who you stand for. Temptations and peer pressure just found a bad guy to deal with!

• YOU LEARN HOW TO SET LIMITS

Not the best example, but some people who take alcohol are cautious to know and stick to their tolerance level to avoid bad situations. You too should have limits for certain behaviors that may be toxic to you or others and know when to stop, to avoid those bad situations.

• PRESENTING YOURSELF

To speak, there must be knowledge. To speak in the right manner, there must be wisdom. This means that it is what you know about yourself that you will tell others, and it is the manner that you relate this information that people will perceive you. In the real world, this means a lot because you’re judged and treated most times the way you present yourself. So, know about yourself, the best way to develop communicative skills with whatever personality you have and observe your environment to see the way to flow better in different moods and settings.

• NOBODY UNWINDS YOU LIKE YOU

The best way to unwind after a tough time is doing what YOU enjoy doing best, not what A said works for her. If your way to chill after a tough time is movies or reading a book or even cooking, incorporate it into your chill routine.

• YOU DISCOVER SKILLS AND TALENTS YOU NEVER KNEW YOU HAD

Trying new things can put on the spotlight skills and talents that may just need development. You also get to know your strength and weaknesses as well as how you can manage them.

This brings us to the end of this post.
